About this event

For 67 years, the Ladies Philoptochos of the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church has worked tirelessly on our primary fundraiser, a Christmas Benefit Tea. Despite the great strides our community has made in the fight against COVID-19, there will again be no in-person event this year.

What remains unchanged is the commitment of Philoptochos to reach out and support the national, metropolis, and local causes that are in need now more than ever before. Though the uncertainty of the pandemic has interrupted our traditional event, we cordially invite you to participate in this year’s 68th Annual Christmas Tea Fundraiser with a donation of $50.00. All proceeds will benefit our annual ministries, as well as several additional charities impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Included among these are local charities, such as the Wish Project, which provides household items and clothing for families in need; the Lowell Transitional Living Center, a 90-bed homeless shelter; and area food pantries and organizations that help those who are experiencing food insecurity. In the true spirit of giving, we can share our Christian values by helping others to pick up the pieces of their lives in the wake of this unprecedented pandemic.

Thanks to the generosity of our loyal Raffle patrons, three cash gift cards in the amounts of $250, $300, and a grand prize of $500.00 will be awarded as part of this year’s Fundraiser. One complimentary raffle ticket is included for each $50.00 donation. The raffle will be drawn at noon on Sunday, December 5, 2021, and the winner will be notified immediately.

In these challenging times, we want you, our devoted Tea supporters, to know how much we miss you and how grateful we are for your generous support. We pray that we can resume our tradition in person at the 69th Annual Christmas Benefit Tea on Sunday, December 4, 2022.
